What to do...

My question is for anyone. What do you do on a daily basis? It seems the beginning of the month is filled with appointments, visiting teaching, and a variety of different activities. However at the end of the month, I find myself bored. It has been TOO cold to take the girls out and about - so going to the park is out of the question. I frequent Walmart too often, I should just own stock for it!! The mall gets boring quick and well...there isn't much more to do in Athens!

Thursday are usually the most uneventful! So...I would like to know what you did today! Thanks!

Thursday's are my craziest. I babysit and it sure does take a lot of time away. You should check into doing the YMCA thing. I got a scholarship for this semester for Jocelyn. Talk to Angela and see about getting one for next semester. Also, there are gymnastics for kids starting at age 1 at Bishop Park. I think I will try it out next fall. I can only do Kindermusic this spring. You can also get a scholarship for Bishop Park.

Take an online class or two that is what consumes my time. The one thing I love to do is read a good book especially when you have nothing else to do and you can sit down and just enjoy. I think you can do indexing for the church online in your spare time. Much better idea than taking classes if you ask me!!! Good Luck!

Something my kiddies and I LOVE to do is go to the local library. Most libraries have regular, weekly story times for children of different ages (from infant story time to 4/5 years old). Parent/child activites or crafts are also a common library thing. We even like to go just to hang out in the kid section (which, depending on the library, can be huge and full of fun stuff to play with). We check out books and dvds. Even though we read together all the time at home, reading at the story corner of the library always seems more "special" for Anna, 3 yrs. And Benjamin is just happy to crawl around and explore a new place, 9 months. The library is also a good place to find out about other community activities your girls might be interested in. Good luck!

Call your friends you know are in the same predicament and do play dates. We also invested in annual passes to our local zoo and children's museum. Before we got a zoo pass I used to take my kids to Petsmart and other pet shops around town. Some of the bigger ones have puppies and kitties and birds. They all have fish and lizards and stuff like that. At first it felt a little weird just walking around the store and then leaving, but I got over it. Sometimes I pretend like we're thinking about getting a dog.

Today I set up a job interview for tomorrow @ 12:30 MST.

I love to read and put puzzles together. I have book collection of 200 + books right now and want more. That's what I like to do when I'm not working. ;)

Those all sound like good suggestions from your other bloggers. My niece, has also taken dance lessons from Community Ed.

It's crazy I used to feel like this when I had two little kids at home and now those little 2 are in school and I run like crazy! The little 2 at home have to run errands and help with mommy's chores. I am with Rach, find out what museums, zoos, fun stores are around and go for that. I like my kids in swimming or tumbling, things that get them moving! Do you have a local Rec center?

Join a local moms group (you can find one on meetup.com, I would be so lonely here without my mom's group!), go to the children's play place at the mall, take advantage of story time at your library! I'm ashamed to admit we've been watching A LOT of Dora during these winter months!

A fort makes everything more fun!! David loves to build forts out of blankets and chairs and then it seems as if everything (eating lunch, reading a book, watching a movie) is an adventure!! Good luck. Wish we were closer so the kids could play more!

I am so glad I am not the only one with this problem! I am dying of boredom, and seriously thought it must just be me. I started scrapbooking hard core, and cleaning like crazy, but you can only do both for so long. I am going to try and turn my free time into excercising time--then I am sure to find something (ANYTHING) to keep me busy :) Let me know if you get any great ideas.
